Privacy Policy

Last updated October 14, 2026

We hope everyone who finds us, in person or online, feels welcome and safe. Here is what this website does and doesn’t do with your information. The short version: very little.

Who we are

This is the website of Moveable Feast, an emerging community of faith in Chicago rooted in the Mennonite tradition and open to all. Our fiscal sponsor is Central District Conference of Mennonite Church USA. If you have a question about this policy or about your information, contact our pastor, the Rev. Celeste Kennel-Shank, at pastor@moveablefeastcommunity.org or 312-967-6785.

What we collect

This website has no forms, comments, visitor accounts or advertising. We don’t use analytics, so we don’t track which pages you visit.

If you email or call us, we use what you share only to reply to you and to care for you as part of our community. We don’t share it with anyone else without your permission.

Giving through PayPal

When you use our “Donate with PayPal” link or QR code, you leave this website and give through PayPal to Central District Conference, our fiscal sponsor. PayPal collects your name, contact and payment details under PayPal’s privacy policy and shares the details of your gift with Central District Conference so they can record it for Moveable Feast. Afterwards PayPal may bring you back to our thank-you page. This website never sees or stores your card or bank details.

If you give by check, it goes to Central District Conference, which records your gift for Moveable Feast.

Our email list

The “Join our email list” button takes you to our Google Group, where you can sign up. Joining happens on Google’s website, under Google’s privacy policy. The people who manage our list can see the name and email address you join with, and, depending on the group’s settings, other members may see them too. We use the list only to share news about Moveable Feast. You can leave at any time from the group’s page or the link at the bottom of our emails.

Our calendar and map links

Our Gatherings page shows our Google Calendar. When the calendar loads, your browser connects to Google, which receives your IP address and may set cookies, as on any Google website. The “map” link for our meeting place opens Google Maps. Google’s privacy policy applies to both.

Security and server logs

To protect the site from spam and attacks, our security tools and our website host keep short-lived technical logs, such as IP addresses, browser type and the pages requested. These logs are used only to keep the site safe and working.

Cookies

This site doesn’t set cookies for visitors. The people who look after our website get a cookie that keeps them logged in while they work on it. The Google Calendar on our Gatherings page may set Google’s own cookies, and PayPal and Google Groups use cookies on their own websites.

Fonts, photos and links

The fonts and photos on this site come from our own website, not from other services. We link to friends and partners, such as Gather Together, Central District Conference and our retreat center. When you follow a link, that website’s own privacy policy applies.

How we use information, and how long we keep it

We use information only to keep this website safe and working, to stay in touch with you, and to share news if you join our email list. We never sell or rent anyone’s information. Security and server logs are kept for a short time and then deleted automatically. You stay on our email list until you leave it, and we keep your messages only as long as they help us stay in touch with you.

Children

People of all ages are welcome at our gatherings. This website doesn’t ask anyone for personal information, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we have about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing pastor@moveablefeastcommunity.org. You can leave our email list at any time. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser; this site works fine without them.

Changes to this policy

If anything changes, we’ll update this page. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
